Town acquires old Wal-Mart

The Town of Kimball has acquired the old Wal-Mart property in Kimball effective the beginning of February 2023.  The Town has spent two years working with the owners to try and find a tenant for the building.

This acquisition provides a great opportunity to spur economic development in the Town, McDowell County and for Southern West Virginia and we want to be good stewards to make sure we can bring the right mix to the site.

It is our goal to work with The County Commission, the State and other local entities to achieve this goal.

We are forming a group that will review and evaluate proposals based on job creation, increased tax revenue and long term sustainability.

If you have a proposal that you would like to make for the property, please email mayor@kimballwv.gov or call City Hall at 304-585-7913 and we will send you a form for submission of your proposal.  All proposals will be considered and there is potential to sub-divide the property with the right anchor.
